Dori Brenes is the owner of Laser Transformation. She is a native Floridian. Born in Palm Beach and currently residing in Deerfield Beach. She began her career in the accounting world after graduating with a Bachelors’ Degree from Trinity University. She owned a successful accounting practice for over seventeen years. Her 92 year old grandmother became very ill and she took on the responsibility of caring for her grandmother on a full time basis for the last two years of her life. After her grandmother passed, she decided to go back to school to pursue a career in the skin care industry. Dori grew up with severe acne, scars and sun damage spots, she was always ready to try the latest fix, so it seemed only natural for her to pursue her passion of skin care. That, coupled with her love for helping people, as she has been volunteering since the age of eight, it was a perfect match.
Upon completing her esthetician course, she educated herself further and took specialty classes in chemical peels, aromatherapy, reflexology and she is a Level II Reiki practitioner. After graduating, She opened a successful medi spa. At the Spa, she had a plastic surgeon, with a private practice in Miami, that came in to treat clients with fillers once a month. The plastic surgeon taught her all about the power of the cold red light laser machine as he had it in his practice. Dori was considering selling the spa as she had very little free time and she wanted to be able to focus more on LoveSami.org, which her significant other and she co-founded. After she had treatments from the plastic surgeon done on her with the cold laser, she decided to purchase one for the spa, and she trained underneath him to be able to learn how to use the machine and all the modalities it offered.
She later decided to offer her clients the option of going to their homes for the laser services and becoming “portable”. She sold the spa and started Laser Transformation. The business has been running for over three years now and is rapidly expanding with new technicians being added frequently. The expansion will further include offering the machines throughout the United States as opportunities for individuals to start their own practice. Clientele are able to benefit from pricing about a third the price of what the plastic surgeons offer this treatment for, as overhead is low, by not having an office and office expenses to pay for. The practice is driven primarily by word of mouth, saving further money by not advertising.
In Dori’s downtime, she is an avid diver, with over 3,000 logged dives. She enjoys traveling, paddle boarding, nature, animals and reading. Ocean conservation is a big part of her life. She also raises and cares for Monarch butterflies in her backyard, which is certified as a National Wildlife Refuge backyard sanctuary. She has a daughter, Sara, age 21, currently pursuing her Bachelors’ degree in Marine Biology and working part time for Laser Transformation. Dori is in a relationship with the love of her life, John, who works at the Hard Rock hotel in Hollywood and is the owner of Y-Tee Gear, an urban golf & skate apparel online retail store aimed at promoting racial equality through comedy. She owns two rescued dogs; Maggie a Jack Russell mixed terrier and Eddie, a corgi terrier mix.
